Southeastern Animal Fiber Fair, Oct. 23-25

The Southeastern Animal Fiber Fair fills the WNC Ag Center with sheep and goat shows, spinning, weaving and felting demos, and a try-it-yourself loom near the main entrance. Sheep shearing is Saturday at 11 AM and 1 PM, and border collies herd sheep Sunday at 10 AM, noon and 2 PM.

It runs Friday and Saturday, October 23 and 24, from 9 AM to 5 PM, and Sunday, October 25, from 9 AM to 4 PM, in Fletcher across from the airport. Admission is $5 a day or $10 for all three days, cash only at the gate, and kids under 13 get in free. Bring cash and the kids.

WNC Agricultural Center in Fletcher, NC, is a premier multi-purpose event facility hosting the North Carolina Mountain State Fair, horse shows, livestock exhibitions, trade shows, festivals, rodeos, car shows, dog shows, auctions, and more. The center includes the Morris L. “Mac” McGough Arena, seating 3,000, and the LEED-certified Davis Event Center with 27,000 sq. ft. of exhibit space. The huge 87-acre campus provides ample parking and a venue for a diverse array of community, regional, and national events year-round.
