Buncombe County Public Libraries · Tuesday, November 3
Singer-songwriter Angela Easterling tells the true story of her ancestor Narcissus Middleton, a Union loyalist in North Carolina during the Civil War, and the dangerous journey she made to save herself and her children. Angela mixes original songs with readings from Narcissus's journal, backed by Brandon Turner on guitar, resonator, banjo and dobro. It's free and runs 5:30 to 6:30 PM in the Pack Memorial Library auditorium, and it's best for ages 10 and up. Come hear a little-known story of Southern resistance to the Confederacy told in song.
