The Scoop
The Core plays Friday, October 30. Norwegian jazz quartet that pulls from classic American jazz traditions with funk and rock mixed in. They've been around the European jazz circuit for years and keep things pretty rooted in groove-based playing rather than going too far out. The courtyard out back stays open whenever they are, no cover to post up there with a drink. If you're not trying to drop cash on the listening room ticket, it's a solid spot to catch the vibe without commitment, just show up and grab a cocktail in the hidden patio area.
