Lucille Klement // Paprika // Kaleb Scherer and the Fender Benders

Lucille Klement // Paprika // Kaleb Scherer and the Fender Benders plays Fleetwood's on Saturday, October 24 at 9:00 PM. Put it on the calendar now so you don't miss it.

Fleetwood's holds down the West Asheville late-night slot on Haywood Road, a dive bar setup with about 150 heads, booths along the walls, and a full bar that keeps pouring well past most venues' last call. The room leans punk, garage, and local bands who know the stage, and street parking along the strip usually cooperates when you roll up.

West Asheville bar, live music venue, legal wedding chapel, and vintage shop rolled into one, housed in a former pawn shop at 496 Haywood Rd. Hosts rock, punk, and comedy acts along with weekly karaoke and DJ nights. Beer and wine bar only. Capacity around 50. A 1958 Cadillac sits out front; Sunday brings the Junk-O-Rama outdoor vintage market.

Locals say it's hard to explain until you go. Walk past the old Cadillac out front, grab a beer, flip through the vintage racks, then watch a punk band play a few feet from where someone just got married. Weeknights bring live music or karaoke, and Sundays have the flea market.
