Friday Night Wine Tasting at Botanist and Barrel

Every Friday, Botanist & Barrel opens a few bottles at its downtown tasting bar on Broadway and pours them for anyone who wanders in. The lineup changes every week and leans toward low-intervention wines, so there's always something new to try.

Drop in anytime from 5:30 to 7:30 PM. You don't need a reservation. The tasting is $10, and it's free when you take a bottle home.

Botanist & Barrel is a natural cidery and winery with a tasting bar at 32 Broadway in downtown Asheville. They call themselves the South's first natural cidery and winery and the first to make pet-nat ciders in the Southeast, working with heirloom apples, muscadines and blueberries grown spray-free.

Locals like that the ciders and wines are wild-fermented, unfiltered, gluten-free and never pasteurized, so they taste different from anything else downtown.
