The Scoop
Rebekah Todd takes the Wednesday spot in The Queen Sessions, Hotel Eve's weekly series honoring the women who shaped jazz. Curated by Melissa McKinney, the series puts a different Asheville vocalist on stage each week with songs from legends like Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Nina Simone and Sarah Vaughan. Todd is an Asheville vocalist and songwriter who also fronts New Dawn Starkestra. Hotel Eve is a listening room in a 1907 basement downtown, so expect a quiet, attentive crowd and a close-up view of the band. Catch sets at 7 and 8:30 PM on Wednesday, November 4 at Hotel Eve Jazz, 56 N Lexington Ave. Reserve a table through Turntable Tickets or buy at the door. Cover is $10 and the room is 21 and up.
