Thirty-four days before she's sent to prison, Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes invites a skeptical film crew to document her every move. What begins as an intimate portrait of an enigmatic felon becomes a mind-bending three-year journey into the abyss.

Rated R, 174 minutes.

Friday October 30 through Wednesday November 4 at 2 and 7 PM, and Thursday November 5 at 2 and 7:20 PM at Fine Arts Theatre. The 7 PM shows are in the main auditorium; the 2 and 7:20 PM shows are in the upstairs auditorium with no elevator.

Fine Arts Theatre is a downtown Asheville movie house at 36 Biltmore Avenue showing first-run independent, foreign and art films. It opened in 1947 as The Strand, downtown's first-run theater, and now runs a main auditorium and an upstairs screen. Beyond new releases, it hosts classic film nights with an introduction and discussion, recently His Girl Friday and A Matter of Life and Death, plus festival screenings like the Mountain Lights Film Festival. General admission is $11, with $9 matinees before 6 pm and $9 tickets for seniors.

Downtown regulars catch the matinees, and the neon marquee on Biltmore Avenue is a favorite night photo.
