DIIV

The Orange Peel · Thursday, April 22

The Scoop

DIIV plays Thursday, April 22. Brooklyn dream pop outfit formed in 2011 by Zachary Cole Smith. Their debut album Oshin got a lot of attention in the indie scene and they've kept that hazy, reverb-heavy guitar sound going through records like Deceiver and Frog in Boiling Water. The Peel pulls the national touring acts that are too big for the clubs but not quite arena-ready, and with 950 people on a standing floor and a sound system that actually does the work justice, it's the room where bands prove they can handle a real crowd. Downtown Biltmore location means parking is a nightmare, so either walk from wherever you're staying or budget extra time to find a spot.
