Leave the ID at home if you're under 18. Sovereign Kava keeps the door at adults-only for their kava bar setup, which means you can catch jazz and open jams in a living-room vibe without any alcohol but plenty of kratom elixirs and mocktails to keep things loose.

Sovereign Kava Bar is a downtown Asheville kava bar with weekly live music, open mic nights, and monthly jazz jams. Serves traditional South Pacific kava plus acoustic sets, tea, kombucha, and vegan snacks.

Locals value Sovereign Kava Bar for its unique, health-conscious menu and tight-knit community feel. The friendly and knowledgeable staff provide excellent service and education for first-time kava drinkers, making it an inviting hangout for both newcomers and regulars. Visitors praise the laid-back yet lively atmosphere, with many highlighting the bar’s excellent live music lineup, ranging from open jams to poetry and singer-songwriter nights. The bar’s dog-friendly policy and outdoor seating add to its appeal as a versatile social venue.
