Riyen Roots plays Sparky's Bardega Downtown on Sunday, November 8 at 2:00 PM. Get there a little early if you want a good spot.

Sparky's Bardega on Broadway is the kind of Asheville spot that's hard to categorize: part grab-and-go convenience store, part neighborhood bar, part live music room. At 23 Broadway in downtown Asheville, it's stocked with snacks, gifts, craft beer, wine and cocktails, including a $10 French 75, and local musicians play on weekends.

Owners Becky and Matt keep the atmosphere loose and welcoming, and bartender Andrew keeps the crowd entertained. Rocky Collins, Lenny Pettinelli and other local regulars rotate through for afternoon sets from 2 to 6 p.m. on weekends.
