Wednesday night at Town Pump in Black Mountain is a solid midweek move if you want to get out of town proper. The room's got that neighborhood tavern feel where an 8pm start time on a weeknight makes sense. The walls are plastered floor to ceiling with signed dollar bills and dusty relics from four decades of operation, giving this cash-only room the feel of a time capsule that happens to host live music. It's a proper 45-person dive where the décor does the talking and the bands keep things intimate.
