Albi & The Lifters are a three-piece string group working through old love songs, swing tunes and standards from France, Brazil and the American songbook. Albi plays French guitar up front.

Antidote is the cocktail lounge inside Chemist Spirits on the South Slope, a dim room with tile floors, wood tables and a long bar. It is a good spot to settle in for a drink while the band plays.

Music runs 8 to 11 PM on Friday, November 6 at Antidote, 151 Coxe Ave. There is no cover, and all ages are welcome.

Antidote is a coffee bar and cocktail lounge at Chemist Spirits on Coxe Avenue in Asheville's South Slope, with three stories of early 1900s apothecary style. It serves specialty coffee and tea in the morning and craft cocktails, beer and wine into the night, with Chemist's own gin and spirits in the mix. There's a rooftop bar with a partly covered deck, and a garden patio where leashed dogs are welcome. You can also buy Chemist bottles to take home.
