Town Pump Tavern is Black Mountain's legendary downtown dive bar, known for live music, cheap beers, and a vintage-packed interior. Cash only and fiercely local, with rotating taps, darts, and frequent singer-songwriter and full-band shows.

Little Jumbo is an award-winning cocktail bar at 241 Broadway Street near Five Points and Montford, set in the old Jenkins grocery building with tin ceilings and green leather seats. The bar knows a thousand recipes, and the bestsellers are the 1870's Old Fashioned and the Hello Friday, poured since 2017, with bar snacks like smoked trout dip.

Potential New Boyfriend is a West Asheville wine bar and ice cream parlor set up like a living room. The Handlebar is a dive bar on Old Haywood Road in West Asheville, open every day from early afternoon. The building used to be Old Haywood, part bar and part diner, and later Just 1 More, a biker bar. It's 21 and up, and the bar opens at 6 PM most nights and 5 PM on Friday and Saturday.

Harrah’s Cherokee Center – Asheville is Western North Carolina’s largest and most versatile event venue, located in downtown Asheville at 87 Haywood Street. This multi-room complex features the ExploreAsheville.com Arena with a seating capacity of 7,674, the historic Thomas Wolfe Auditorium holding 2,431 guests, and an adjacent banquet hall for up to 500 attendees. White Horse Black Mountain is a beloved intimate music hall located in downtown Black Mountain, NC. With a cozy capacity of approximately 150-180 seats, this venue is celebrated as a true “listening room” where the focus is squarely on the music and the artist-audience connection. In addition to live concerts featuring genres from jazz and bluegrass to rock and Americana, White Horse also hosts storytelling nights, theater, poetry readings, puppetry, and community fundraisers. The venue prides itself on outstanding acoustics, comfortable seating with sofas and tables, and a friendly, inclusive atmosphere. Owned and curated by music industry veteran Bob Hinkle, White Horse Black Mountain anchors a year-round cultural hub for Western North Carolina.

The Joint Next Door is a neighborhood bar at 1185 Charlotte Highway in Fairview, about 20 minutes east of Asheville, sharing a parking lot with The Local Joint restaurant. It has a small-town bar feel and nightly live music, mostly rock, country, blues and Americana, with no cover for most shows, and an open jam night with the King Street House Band. After 4 pm it serves the full Local Joint menu, with burgers and pub food alongside beer and drinks. There's room for dogs, and shows usually run from about 7 to 10 pm.

Revival is a live music and concert venue at 66 Asheland Ave in Asheville's South Slope. Shows use seated or standing-room setups, depending on the performance.

Hellbender is an outdoor concert venue on about three acres along a bend in the Swannanoa River at 151 Thompson Street, on the former Cursus Keme brewery property. The team behind The Orange Peel runs it. It opened in July 2026 with a limited first season, and a permanent stage and full season are planned for spring 2027. There's a general admission lawn, premium and standard seats, bars and food trucks.
