The workshop is part of the store, so you can watch knives being made, and the team handles sharpening and repair for kitchen knives, garden tools, barbering shears, axes and more.

Rudy got his start repairing antiques and buying closeouts from high-end furniture makers, and the store still runs on that idea. Expect sofas, sectionals, accent chairs, dining tables and chairs, beds, dressers, desks, outdoor furniture, lighting and decor. Rudy's is open Monday through Saturday from 9:30 to 5.

LuLu's Consignment Boutique is a family-run consignment shop on Hendersonville Road in Fletcher, just south of Asheville. It opened in 2006 and fills the racks with gently used clothing for women, men and kids, plus furniture, home decor and seasonal pieces. Brands to look for include Madewell, Free People, Patagonia, Lululemon, Anthropologie, Athleta, Frye and Boden. Consignors bring items in during set drop weeks and the store only takes what's in season, so the racks turn over with the weather.
